Job Description

Tasks
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, coordinating with healthcare providers to optimize calendars.
  • Handle patient communications, including appointment reminders, follow-ups, and answering general inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with billing and insurance claims, verifying patient information, processing payments, and resolving billing inquiries.
  • Prepare and organize medical documents, such as prescriptions, referrals, and patient intake forms.
  • Coordinate with pharmacies and other healthcare providers for prescription refills and medical supplies.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring data accuracy and efficient documentation.
  • Provide administrative support for telemedicine appointments, including technical assistance and patient onboarding.
  • Assist with patient onboarding and registration, collecting necessary information and ensuring smooth check-in processes.
Skill and Experience
  • Proven experience as a Virtual Assistant, Medical Secretary, or Administrative Assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and healthcare management software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Practice Fusion).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interactions.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Diploma or certification in Administrative Support, or Office Management is preferred.
  • Experience in remote work environments and familiarity with communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack) is beneficial.
